Besides natural techniques of conservation for the books, such as the lack of space between the wall and the book (so it doesn’t create humidity), there are also a few bats that inhabit this library eating any insect that could destroy this invaluable treasure.

This Library was used in Gulliver’s Travels (1996) as the Great Chamber of War for the Emperor of Lilliput. (Source:Wiki)

Magnificent Libraries 14 - José Vasconcelos Library, Mexico City

Magnificent Libraries 13 - Stuttgart City Library, Stuttgart, Germany

This library, along with The Reading Room of The British Museum, are my 2 dream libraries. The minimalistic clean edges and monochromatic white are so stunning!

Magnificent Libraries 12 - Stockholm Public Library

Magnificent Libraries 11 - Library of Congress, Washington DC

Magnificent Libraries 10 - Château de Chantilly Library, France

Magnificent Libraries 09 - Kanazawa Umimirai Library, Kanazawa City, Japan

As much as I love huge intricately decorated libraries, there is just something irresistible to me about minimalistic designs in libraries with monochromatic themes and straight lines.
